The UCLA School of Public Health's 200 faculty are renowned experts and innovators who hold leadership
positions in our community and at the state, national, and international levels - actively conducting research
and providing consultations in nearly 70 countries.
Our faculty not only teach tomorrow's public health practitioners and educators, but they create new
knowledge in the field, contribute their expertise to legislators and public health leaders, prevent
disease, and create programs that save millions of lives worldwide. To solidify our position within the
top-ranked schools nationally, it is imperative that we significantly augment the permanent financial
resources available for faculty. The School must offer attractive recruitment and
retention packages to maintain the world-class faculty necessary to train the high-caliber workforce
needed to keep our global population healthy.
Investing in our faculty, whether through small gifts to fund their research or teaching initiatives
to principal gifts that establish and endow faculty chairs, is one of the most powerful measures to
empower the School in its continuing efforts to attract and retain the nation's leading professors.
