Lori Pelliccioni, J.D., MPH, Ph.D.

Biographical Information
Lori S. Richardson
Pelliccioni is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health
Services, UCLA School of Public Health. Dr. Pelliccioni teaches the
Department’s course in health law. She received her Ph.D. and
M.P.H. from UCLA’s School of Public Health.
Dr. Pelliccioni’s
research focuses on healthcare fraud and abuse in the Medicare Program
and corporate compliance in healthcare organizations. She is the Principle
Investigator of The Compliance Effectiveness Study and The Compliance
Effectiveness Pilot conducted for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid
Services.
Before joining the faculty of the UCLA School of Public Health, Dr.
Pelliccioni served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central
District of California, where she prosecuted healthcare fraud cases.
She has also been a Partner in PricewaterhouseCooper’s Health
Care Practice, where she specialized in corporate compliance and healthcare
fraud litigation support. Subsequently, Dr. Pelliccioni was the Chief
Compliance Officer and acting General Counsel at DaVita, Inc., El Segundo,
California. She is currently the President of the Center for Healthcare
Compliance, a healthcare consulting firm.
In addition to her academic position, Dr. Pelliccioni serves as the
United States Department of Justice Federal Monitor in the case of U.S.
v. Mantra Films, Inc., and MRA Holdings, LLC.
