Biographical Information

Pamela Davidson, Ph.D., teaches ‘organization and management processes’ and ‘health program evaluation’ in the UCLA Department of Health Services. Her research areas include leadership and organizational development and access to medical care. She has directed large scale multi-site research and evaluation studies for 15 years to investigate medical and dental care access, geographic variation and determinants of safety net performance and breast cancer stage at diagnosis, and organization and leadership development. Previously she chaired two academic programs in health services management. Prior to that she developed and expanded statewide a not-for-profit organization, conducting regional forums on health policy decision making. Dr. Davidson is on the Review Board for the Journal of Health Administration Education and Journal of Community Dentistry and Epidemiology, and serves on the NCHL Advisory Council on Research & Evaluation. Currently she is working with the leadership team to build the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute designed to eliminate barriers and enhance collaboration and growth among the basic, biomedical, clinical, and population-based sciences to accelerate the pace and translation of scientific discoveries.
