Every year, Americans spend more than $2 trillion on health care related expenditures, yet many challenges remain: disparities in health, fragmented and inefficient health delivery systems, increasing numbers of uninsured, patient safety and medical errors, to name but a few. The MPH programs at UCLA provide a rigorous grounding in the necessary skills and competencies for entry level and professional level individuals who seek solutions to these crises. We offer a broad, general health care management and policy curriculum that addresses critical issues facing the U.S. health care system. Our students graduate with a comprehensive knowledge base to understand the implications of the field as well as a set of skills and competencies to apply in furtherance of moving us toward a more efficient, equitable and quality health care system. As a student in the MPH programs, you will be part of a network of leaders that spans an array of health care endeavors from our world recognized faculty to the leadership of our alumni in the health care delivery community, locally and nationally. Please carefully peruse our website. We have tried to provide you with all the information you will need to make an informed decision about becoming a student in the MPH program in Health Services.
