Summary:
On May 30, 2008, Professor Ralph R. Frerichs conducted a guest lecture on HIV
testing strategies in the UCLA course, EPI 227 "AIDS: A Major Public Health
Challenge" (Instructor: Professor Roger Detels). The two-hour lecture
featured a public health view of testing. Specifically the emphasis was on
preventing HIV transmission to susceptible persons, rather than upholding
the right of HIV infected persons to avoid detection. Final, the focus was
on new strategies to promote widespread HIV testing.
Operating System: The
lecture is available to view and hear for all who use the Windows operating
system, either with a PC or Intel-based Mac with Windows partition. The animated Powerpoint presentations do not appear correctly with
the Mac Safari browser.
