What follows is the retirement party of Ralph Frerichs, held on October 24, 2008.  About 80-90 persons were in attendance at the wine-and-hors d'oeuvres hour and sit-down dinner, held at the UCLA Faculty Center.  Unfortunately Professor Frerichs could not invite additional persons.  For those who missed the evening, including other friends and colleagues, past students or merely the curious, this website offers a summary of the festivities.   

Ralph Frerichs retired from UCLA on October 31, 2008. He is now Professor Emeritus in the UCLA Department of Epidemiology.  Frerichs is being recalled by his Department to teach EPI 100 Principles of Epidemiology during Summer Session A, 2009.  This will be his only teaching responsibility at UCLA.  During retirement he will be expanding his interest in  photography and will continue to have an internet presence.
