Job OpportunitiesDIRECTOR - Southern California Education and Research CenterUCLA School of Public Health The Department of Environmental Health Sciences and the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) seek a candidate to assume the Directorship of the Southern California Education and Research Center (SC ERC), which is funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Candidates for this position must have demonstrated excellence in research and management and a track record of obtaining significant extramural funding; they must have sufficient qualifications to be appointed at the level of either tenured Associate Professor or Professor. The Director’s expertise can be in any area of occupational and environmental health, broadly defined. Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or other doctoral degree in Occupational and Environmental Health or in a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent teaching and scholarship and an independent research program in his/her area of expertise. We are looking for candidates who will advance collaborations with others in the School of Public Health, the COEH, and other units on campus, mentor junior faculty, and advance our commitment to diversity in student bodies, faculty, and staff. The Southern California Education and Research Center (SC ERC) is one of 17 Centers in the United States whose mission is to protect and improve worker health through education, research, and service. The SC ERC has 16 core faculty members associated with its academic programs and approximately $1.4 million /year budget support from NIOSH.
