Criteria For Selecting Hall
of Fame Recipients
The School of Public Health Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates the accomplishments
of outstanding alumni who make substantial and distinctive contributions
to the field of Public Health. These contributions demonstrate leadership
and vision and are widely recognized in local, national, or international
communities. Activities may take the form of:
- Research and scholarly activities,
- Leadership in public health institutions or organizations,
- Advancing public health in community settings, and
- Volunteering time and talent in support of public health, through
civic, philanthropic or public service activities.
Active, full-time UCLA School of Public Health faculty who are alumni
are not eligible for nomination.
Members of
the Hall of Fame include those who advocate to:
- Provide outreach in areas of public health and health education
and work along side members of underserved communities,
- Empower community members to work toward health policy reforms,
- Strengthen public health practice through use of public health
law, and
- Drive effective health policies through a state assembly.
