Applicants to the Career Development in Population-Based Cancer Prevention and Control Research at UCLA must hold a doctoral degree (eg, PhD, MD, EdD) and should have a strong interest in pursuing a career in cancer prevention and control research.

Qualified post-doctoral candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens. The University of California, Los Angeles is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and strongly encourages applications from minority individuals.

Applications must include:

  1. A completed Application Form. To download the application form, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. To download the free Reader, click here.
  2. A statement of interest (2-3 pages) that describes in detail the applicant's interest in this field (ie, general or specific research interests) and future goals.
  3. A curriculum vitae.
  4. Transcripts from all post-baccalaureate education.
  5. Three professional letters of reference. These should address the applicant's interests, prior work and achievements, and professional promise.
  6. A published or draft journal article, or a sample of written work.
  7. The date for which the applicant is seeking admission into the program.

Candidates for admission may be invited to UCLA for an in-person interview. We welcome and anticipate applications from candidates who have recently completed doctoral-level studies, as well as from candidates who have had more extensive experience in their respective fields. Admission to the program will be based on the Committee's assessment of the applicant's interest in, and professional promise with respect to, cancer prevention and control research.
