CHS 296 sec. 1, Helen DuPlessis:
This is the third of a three-quarter sequence, Child and Family Health Program
Community Leadership Seminar. The content will focus on specific leadership
competencies that are or should be employed by organizations effective in
shaping maternal and child health programs and policies (or, indeed, by
organizations shaping any population level policies and programs. (Students
should enroll for 2 units.)
CHS 296 sec. 3, Steven Wallace:
This course will provide an overview of key topics in public health for
immigrants and refugees in the U.S. It covers the demographics; specific
population groups and their circumstances and rights, including refugees,
immigrants, asylees, and migrants; epidemiologic issues, including risk factors
and disease patterns; health and human rights; and access to health care and
prevention services. The course will build the skills necessary to
develop an integrated approach to the health of immigrant populations.
(Students should enroll for 4 units.)
