FOR CHS 247
There are several useful resources for public health professionals
interested in population on the web.
SPECTRUM
This is a population projection program developed by the Futures
Group that we will use in CHS 247. To use it, you must download it from
the web and install it in your computer. We will use the DemProj
portion of the software, but keep in mind that this program also does a
number of other types of projections or simulations which you should
know about. Make sure to read the description of the program.

EASEVAL
This is a data analysis program also developed by the Futures Group
to facilitate the evaluation of Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS).
DHS is an international program of nationally-representative surveys in
countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa. We will not use this
program in class, but you may want to use it for your term paper. or in
the future.

MEASURE Tools
The MEASURE Project also has several tools that are useful for
practitioners involved in family planning, reproductive health,
HIV/AIDS, and child survival programs. We will not use this program in
