Adjunct Assistant Professor (Environmental Health Sciences) was appointed in 1993. Dr. Liu received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the National Chengchi University in Taiwan, Republic of China (1977), an M.S. in industrial hygiene from Texas A&M University (1981), and a Ph.D. in public health (minor in cybernetics) from UCLA (1987). He did postdoctoral research at the Institute for Environmental Medicine at the New York University.

Dr. Liu's academic interest is in occupational safety and ergonomics, exposure assessment, and industrial hygiene. Current research focuses are on the exposure assessment of risk factors associated with work-related musculoskeletal discomfort and disorders (WMSDs), and on the prevention of WMSDs through workstation design and job enrichment.
