Wendie A. Robbins
The newest member of the COEH faculty, Dr. Robbins came to UCLA as an
Assistant Professor in Fall 1998. She serves as Director of UCLA's Occupational
Health Nursing program, with a joint appointment in the UCLA Schools of
Public Health (Environmental Health Sciences) and Nursing. Dr. Robbins
earned a B.S. degree in nursing from Arizona State University (1978),
a M.S. in nursing from the University of Arizona (1991), a M.S. in Epidemiology
from the University of Washington (1990) and a Ph.D. (1994) in Epidemiology
from the University of California, Berkeley. She is also certified as
an OB-Gyne Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Robbins' research interests include genetic biomarkers used in epidemiologic
studies of reproductive/offspring health (development, application and
evaluation of biomarkers); reproductive and environmental epidemiology;
genetic toxicology (specifically germ cell mutagenesis); gene environment
interactions; environmental/occupational exposures related to semen ;
and surveillance for occupational disease and injury. Her clinical interests
include germ cell cytogenetics (induced damage and offspring health);
occupational and environmental health; infertility; and family and women's
health care.
