Tenured Faculty Position, UCLA School of Public Health


The Department of Environmental Health Sciences and the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) is seeking candidates for a tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level to serve as Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) funded Southern California Education and Research Center (ERC). The candidate should have experience and demonstrated leadership in conducting research, overseeing academic programs, and obtaining extramural funding

Applicants should have a doctoral degree or M.D. in environmental or occupational health sciences or in a closely related field and a record of research in exposure assessment in the occupational and environmental health sciences. Areas of research interest may include biologically-based exposure assessment, aerosol science, field studies of exposure assessment, exposure assessment/toxicology or statistical/ mathematical modeling of exposure. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program in his/her area of expertise and to collaborate with others in the Department and COEH whose research is in occupational and environmental epidemiology and toxicology.

The Southern California ERC is one of 17 Centers in the United States whose mission is to protect and improve worker health through education, research, and service. The Center has 16 core faculty members associated with its academic programs. The core Center grant is approximately $1.4 million/year.
