UCLA School of Public Health

Anti-virus Resources

UCLA has entered into a licensing agreement with McAfee that allows all staff, faculty, and students to use the latest version of the licensed McAfee products.

The official version of these files is supplied in pkzip format, with pkzip authentication, and require the pkunzip.exe program to extract the files within. Download these files into their own directory, then unzip them and run the setup program.

We also have available self-extracting .EXE files that provide no authentication (if you are highly paranoid, get the .ZIP version). The .EXE sfx file merely needs to have its name typed and it will expand. The windows 3.1, windows 95, and windows NT versions expand into a subdirectory called 'setup'. Change to that directory and run the 'setup.exe' program within it to install the program. The DOS version will expand into a directory called 'mcafee', there is no setup program for the DOS version.

Original .ZIP files (requires pkunzip.exe):
DOS version
Windows 3.1 version
Windows 95 version
Windows NT version

Self-extracting .EXE files:
