Assistant Professor In-Residence (Environmental Health Sciences), was appointed in 1993. Dr. Liu received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the National Chengchi University in Taiwan, Republic of China (1977), an M.S. in industrial hygiene from Texas A&M University (1981), and a Ph.D. in public health (minor in cybernetics) from UCLA (1987). He did postdoctoral research at the Institute for Environmental Medicine at the New York University. Dr. Liu°'s academic interest is in occupational safety and ergonomics, exposure assessment, and industrial hygiene. Current research focuses are on the exposure assessment of risk factors associated with work-related musculoskeletal discomfort and disorders (WMSDs), and on the prevention of WMSDs through workstation design and job enrichment.
