The first outbreak graph presented by CDC showed onset times for 21 anthrax cases (16 confirmed and 5 suspect).  It was published in the November 2, 2001 issue of MMWR.  The figure drew attention to the importance of two anthrax mailings postmarked September 18 and sent to several New York City locations and postmarked October 9 and sent to a Washington DC address.
