Twenty-two cases of Anthrax have occurred in the United States between September 16 and November 21, 2001, transmitted via mailed letters by one or more bioterrorists. Originally the total was 23, but one suspected case was later removed on December 7, 2001 due to lack of confirmatory testing. Later in March 2002 another case arose in a laboratory worker, not directly attributed to the infected letters that caused the outbreak. This section of the site presents data on the individual cases, shown by number in the previous graphs. Included is a brief description of each case, with some including a clinical description, and when coming to the attention of the news media, a newspaper article.
