DESCRIPTION

Associate Professor in Residence at the UCLA School of Public Health,  Dr. Sorvillo holds a PhD in Epidemiology with a concentration in infectious diseases.  He has over 15 years experience in the surveillance and control of communicable diseases for the Department of Health Services in Los Angeles County.  Dr. Sorvillo has published over 50 scientific articles and has frequently presented at national and international conferences. In the academic year 1999-2000 he was recognized as Professor of the Year in the Department of Epidemiology by the Public Health Students Association. A member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and serves as a referee for a number of professional journals. Dr. Sorvillo is a dedicated Little League coach and serves on the Board of Directors of Continental-La Palma Little League.
