In 1842, the Chelsea Waterworks (in red) is
located by the River Thames at the entrance of the Grosvenor Canal,
first constructed by the company as a tidal inlet in 1725. The Chelsea
Bridge near the entrance of the Grosvenor Canal had not yet been built
over the River Thames. |
