The organizing meetings of the London Epidemiological Society likely took place in 1850 at the site of the shown building, located at the south-west corner of Hanover square, on the north side of Brook Street.  Dr. John Snow was one of the founding members.  This was one of the first professional organizations devoted to the field of epidemiology.
