The purpose of this 2– or 3-day review course is to promote knowledge of professional hazardous materials management principles and assist students to prepare for certification as a Hazardous Materials Manager or Practitioner. The CHMM credential is nationally recognized and promotes career advancement and recognition in the field of hazardous materials management and engineering. Content areas are defined by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).
Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioners work in environmental protection, public health, homeland security, transportation, safety and related fields. Corporations, universities, and government agencies depend on the CHMP certification to identify individuals qualified to properly identify and handle hazardous and/or potentially hazardous materials.
Body of knowledge needed to successfully pass rigorous CHMM & CHMP examinations will be covered in 3-day overview course. First two days will emphasize CHMP “Practitioner” topics. Third day will emphasize CHMM “Manager” topics. Each student will receive a Student Workbook (containing practice exam and study guide worksheets). Course instructors will lead students through each section of the student workbook. Course will cover laws & regulations, science & technology, management principals and practical applications pertaining to body of knowledge required to practice as a hazardous materials professional. Over 15,000 professionals have been certified by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. These certified professionals work in environmental protection, public health, homeland security, transportation, safety, and related fields.
