UCLA Collaborative Project
Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) Public Health Initiative

In order to learn more about the health and environmental impact of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory on the surrounding community, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) received funding. Soon after, they hired Eastern Research Group (ERG) to serve as an independent, unbiased research contractor to administer the initiative.

Because ERG is located in Lexington, Massachusetts, it is logistically challenging for them to conduct the in-depth research that is required for this study. As a result, they chose to subcontract out the work to UCLA investigators Hal Morgenstern, Yoram Cohen, Thomas Harmon and Deborah Glik.

It is our goal on this web site to provide a clear, balanced and impartial presentation of work done by Drs. Morgenstern, Cohen and Harmon for this initiative. We will keep you updated as to the progress of this study.
