How List of Materials was Created
Upon reviewing the collection of materials located in the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Library archives, we have developed a list of what we think are the most relevant materials regarding the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL). We have chosen these materials as they provide the most information on conditions at SSFL and the surrounding community-including the various studies that have investigated chemicals and radiation in the soil, surface water, groundwater, rock, air, and local biological organisms in the area. We provide general summaries of report types when possible and more specific descriptions where summaries would not prove helpful. There has been little editing in the construction of this list, however, if you feel we have overlooked particular materials that deserve attention, please contact us and we will address these additional materials.

How the Materials are Archived at CSUN
The CSUN Library archives materials into boxes (e.g., Box ROCK 18) based on the date they arrive in the library. Each item within the boxes is numbered and we have provided these item numbers for you in parentheses ( ) next to the box numbers. Also, at the end of each listing, we have provided the name of the company that was responsible for completing the work that was done. (The ^ symbol represents cases in which there was not one company responsible for the materials-in some cases there were several companies contracted to do the work, in others no specific companies were named.)
