represents cases in which there was not one company responsible for the materials-in
some cases there were several companies contracted to do the work, in others
no specific companies were named.
GRC = Groundwater Resources
Consultants, Inc. Tucson, AZ
1988
- Area II: Hazardous Ranking System
Report, 3 Mar 1988; Box ROCK 2 (4) GRC
Included in this report are HRS worksheets, supporting documentation and data.
Groundwater and surface water migration routes are discussed.
- Area II: Preliminary Assessment
Report, 3 Mar 1988; Box ROCK 2 (5) GRC
This document provides hydrogeologic data that were collected, evaluated and
provides a summary of results. Topics addressed were: waste characteristics,
pollutant dispersal pathways, target populations and environments (surface
water, soil, total population potentially affected), and recommended actions.
1989
- Environmental Monitoring and Facility
Effluent Annual Report - De Soto and Santa Susana Field Laboratories Sites,
1989; Box ROCK 17 (11) Rockwell
This annual report provides a general summary of activities at SSFL site,
including: summary and evaluation of Environmental Monitoring Results, Environmental
Monitoring Results (includes radioactive materials), Environmental Monitoring
Program (description, sampling and sample preparation for soil, water, and
ambient air-counting and calibration), Radioactive Effluent Monitoring Program
(treatment and handling, facility descriptions, estimation of general population
dose attributable to Rocketdyne operations) and Nonradioactive Materials Monitoring.
1991
- Visual Site Inspection Report
for Rockwell International Corporation, Rocketdyne Division, Santa Susana
Field Laboratory, Technical Enforcement Support at Hazardous Waste Sites TES
11 - Zone 4: draft report, Feb 1991; Box ROCK 17 (12-13) SAIC (Science Applications
International Corporation)
The purpose of this project was to identify and verify solid waste management
units (SWMUs) and other areas of concern and to evaluate the potential for
releases of hazardous waste and hazardous constituents from the SWMUs. Radiological
releases were also evaluated and included in this report and other topics
addressed were: soil and groundwater, surface water, air, and subsurface gas.
1992
- SSFL: Tritium Production and Release
to Groundwater at SSFL, Safety Review Report, I Dec 1992; Box ROCK 35 (12)
Rocketdyne
Topics addressed in this safety report were: onsite and offsite testing in
BBI areas; report explores and discusses origin and concentrations of tritium
in environment due to natural and artificial causes; local and global considerations;
regulatory limits and applications; production, release, and migration in
groundwater of tritium due to operations at SSFL.
1995
- Results of Laboratory Analyses
for Mercury from Water Samples Collected from BBI Wells August 1995, 19 Oct
1995; Box ROCK 53 (8-9) GRC
This report provides sampling data for mercury in water from monitor wells
on Brandeis-Bardin Institute property.
- SSFL - Geophysical & Hydrologic
Testing Survey (#32531 004), 2 Nov 1995 (Ref. 96RC5442); Box ROCK 58 (6-8)
Harding Lawson Associates Novato, CA
The purpose of this survey was to learn more about the nature and extent of
fracturing within the bedrock around sites RD-7 and RD-50 using surface and
borehole geophysical methods and aquifer testing.
1996
- SSFL - Results of Pilot Tracer
Testing at Wells RD-1 and RD-10 (#8640M-273), 28 Mar 1996 (Ref. 96RC5442);
Box ROCK 59 (3) GRC
These results describe an overall SSFL-wide characterization of hydrogeologic
conditions onsite.
- Pilot Groundwater Extraction Test
at the B/886 Former Sodium Disposal Facility, Report #8640M-272 (Ref. No.
96RC7413), [14 May 1996], 25 Nov 1996; Box ROCK 65 (12-13) GRC
This report provides the results of a groundwater extraction test conducted
at former sodium disposal facility, Area IV. The study sampled for volatile
organic compounds and radioactivity both on-site and off-site.
1997
- SSFL (Ref. No. 97RC3610): Hydraulic
Communication Study, Report No. 8640M-297, 3 Jun 1997; Box ROCK 68 (19-21)
GRC
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the site-wide interconnection of
fracture zones. This included the examination of water level changes in wells
produced by shutting down the groundwater extraction systems at the SSFL,
as well as water level changes induced as the groundwater extraction systems
were sequentially brought back on line. Both on and off-site wells were monitored
(Chatsworth Formation).
1999
- SSFL - Air Monitoring Report Detonation
(Ref 99RC3739), 7 Jul 1999; Box ROCK 86 (4) Clayton Environmental Consultants,
A Division of Clayton Group Services, Inc Santa Ana, CA
This is a copy of the air monitoring report prepared in response to April
15, 1999 detonation activities at the Happy Valley area of concern. Included
is the request for an emergency permit to enable on-site detonation from California
EPA. The study concerns air monitoring for total particulates and 28 metals.
- SSFL - Proposed Borrow Area Sampling
Results (Jul 1999), (Ref. 99RC6067), 8 Dec 1999; Box ROCK 88 (15) Ogden Environmental
& Energy Services Co, Inc. San Diego, CA
This document proposed work on a borrow area located in Area IV, including
soil sampling from 4 locations in the proposed borrow area. Chemical and radionuclide
analysis were conducted.
