The purpose of this report was to identify via a "no fault" baseline survey
of the Department's major operating facilities, environmental problems and
areas of environmental risk (in order to prioritize problem areas). The report
provides preliminary findings based on first phase of Environmental Survey
and includes topics such as: air, soil, surface water, hydrogeology, Haste
Management, Toxic and Chemical materials, Radiation, Quality Assurance/Quality
Control, and inactive waste sites and releases.

This report is a comprehensive assessment encompassing Environment, Safety
and Health (ES&H) and quality assurance (QA) disciplines, site remediation,
surplus facilities management, and waste management operations. Compliance
with Federal, state, and local regulations; DOE orders; best management practices;
and internal Rocketdyne requirements were assessed.
