I was also responsible for developing a Branch specific skills assessment survey as well as producing a strategic plan document.

Objective 1: To acquaint myself with the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Branch, all its programs and previous strategic planning work.

Objective 2: To understand the concepts, ideas, and methods behind strategic planning specifically in public health and in a broader, more general sense.

Objective 3: To produce a draft strategic plan document/chart by July 21, 2004 and update it biweekly thereafter until completed.

Objective 4: To provide biweekly information to the entire branch staff outlining the progress being made in the strategic planning progress, keeping everyone informed.

Objective 5: To assist in managing the distribution of the overall plan to appropriate partners, districts, staff, and agency partners.

Objective 6: To develop a Branch specific skills assessment online survey form.

Results Achieved: A skills assessment survey has been developed along with a Branch strategic plan and the corresponding document. To date, the Branch strategic plan is in the revision phase.
