About SPH Admissions Research Departments & Degrees News Giving to SPH

Each year, 700 students representing every region of the United States and some 35 countries are enrolled in the School. These students are attracted not only by the School's world-class faculty, but also by the wealth of educational opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, including hands-on internship experiences locally and abroad. Through master's- and doctoral-level training, students are prepared to become leading public health practitioners, educators and researchers, contributing through a host of approaches and from a variety of positions to advancing the health of populations. While in residence at the School, public health graduate students learn cutting-edge field practices and contribute to important research and public service projects under the guidance of our highly acclaimed faculty.

These students make the world a healthier place. By supporting them, you are protecting health and saving lives, too.

The high cost of living in Los Angeles, coupled with the rising costs of pursuing a graduate degree, make it a challenge for the UCLA School of Public Health to continue to attract the very best students and to provide crucial access to students from underserved communities. To remain competitive with other top-10 schools, especially private and more heavily endowed schools, we must significantly augment our student financial aid. Stepped up student support would also allow us to expand our career counseling and placement services, and to fund student travel to public health conferences and student-initiated educational and community public health activities.

Investing in student fellowships helps to bring in the best students at a time of rising tuition costs - students who will go on to serve diverse populations locally and around the globe.
