When do classes meet?
Classes meet twice a month for 2 academic years (September through June). Classes are scheduled on Fridays from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. See the class calendar.
Where do classes meet?
Classes meet in the School of Public Health, located at the UCLA campus.
How many students are in the class?
Each class has approximately 35 students.
When is the deadline for applying to the program?
The MPH-HP Program in Health Services Management is on a rolling admission. Applications will be accepted until the class is full. The application priority deadline is April 1. Early applications are encouraged due to limited classroom space.
How much is tuition?
UCLA establishes annual tuition fees each year for the following year. Tuition for 2003/2004 will be approximately $18,000. This amount covers the cost of registration, instruction, books, supplemental reading material, and parking.
Is financial aid available?
Stafford loans are available to cover the full amount of the tuition. See the financial aid fact sheet and request for an application.

What are the requirements for admission?
Three years of professional experience or the full-time equivalent in a healthcare setting; Acceptable bachelor's degree with a "B" (3.0) average in upper division coursework and/or prior graduate study; Perform satisfactorily on a recent (within the last five years) Graduate Record Exam.

Three years of professional experience or the full-time equivalent in a healthcare setting.
What happens if I don't have three years of work experience?
You need to have three years by the time classes begin. If you have less experience and would like to begin a program right away, you can apply to the "regular, day" program.
Can I waive the GRE?
What do I have to score on the GRE?
There is no requirement for a minimum combined score. As a guideline, the average GRE scores for those offered admission to the school over the past three years are Verbal: 543 and Quantitative: 670.
Are the program requirements different if I already have an MBA?
What characteristics does the Admissions Committee look for in a student?
The MPH-HP Admissions Committee is looking for a diverse group of individuals to participate in each class. A variety of factors are taken into consideration, including work experience, grade-point average, GRE scores, and the personal statement.
What should I include in my personal statement?
What professional and personal experiences have led you to apply to this program? What kind of work experience do you have? What do you hope to gain from the program? How will the MPH help you obtain your professional goals?
How many letters of recommendation do I need, and who writes them?
You need 3 letters of recommendation. Preferably, one letter should be from an academic source. The other two letters should be professional references who can speak to your ability to succeed in a graduate program.
Is an interview required for admission?
Interviews are offered to all applicants either in person or by telephone to help personalize your admissions experience.
