    What is HIA Training

The UCLA Health Impact Assessment Group will conduct three series of training workshops in California on health impact assessment methodology in the summer and fall of 2006. Each workshop will consist of two consecutive half-day trainings, aimed primarily at mid-level managers and technical staff from public health, planning, and other local and state agencies in California. With financial support from the California Endowment's 'Healthy Eating Active Communities Initiative" we are able to provide these trainings and follow-up technical assistance at no cost to participants.

    Goals

    • Provide participants basic knowledge about health impact assessment (HIA), its correct application, and value
    • Provide participants with sufficient skills to plan and coordinate HIAs of value to their respective agencies with continued technical assistance from the UCLA Health Impact Assessment Group

    Past Trainings

Los Angeles, June 27-28, 2006 (completed)

San Francisco, October 4, 2006 (completed)

    Sacramento, April 2007 (completed)

No trainings scheduled at this time. Contact us if you wish to be notified when the next training is scheduled.
