Department of Health Services

With state funding for the University dropping sharply, the future of the Department of Health Services as a leader in preparing health services professionals now greatly depends on forging stronger partnerships with community organizations. The Community Partners Program is a central means for achieving this objective. Individuals and organizations are invited to join the Department in its efforts on behalf of the health and well being of all of our communities.

The Community Partners Program is a unique opportunity to invest in the future of UCLA’s Department of Health Services. Unrestricted funds provided by individuals and organizations through the Community Partners Program will be directed to where they are most needed, such as in the recruitment of top faculty and program applicants, technology upgrades for our teaching and research programs, and the maintenance of adequate levels of student aid. In return for their annual contributions, Community Partners gain access to the Department’s expertise and scholarly resources, as well as prominent recognition for their involvement in the program.

For an annual contribution of $5,000, Partners receive:

  • Recognition in the Department’s internationally distributed marketing brochure and Internet website
  • Recognition in the Department’s annual Alumni Awards Dinner brochure
  • Access to students for residencies, internships, and course-related field work
  • Access to the Department’s annual resume book summarizing the qualifications of our graduating class
  • Mailings on upcoming seminars and special events in the Department of Health Services and the School of Public Health
  • Assistance with arranging student job interviews
  • Privileges at UCLA libraries for an individual in the Partner's organization

At the $10,000 level, in addition to the previously listed benefits, partners will have access to the Department’s distinguished faculty for the following purposes:

  • A one-day consultation with one or more faculty members to address managerial and policy issues of concern to the Partner
  • Telephone consultation with available faculty members
