Amardeep Thind is an Assistant
Professor in the Department of Health Services, UCLA School of Public
Health. Dr. Thind’s research interests include access to health care
services in developing countries, and the role of the private and public
sectors in care delivery. He teaches courses in health systems organization
and financing in the regular (day) and the weekend MPH Program for Health
Professionals. A head and neck surgeon by training, Dr. Thind received his
M.D. from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, and
his PhD in Health Services Research from UCLA. Prior to his appointment at
UCLA, Dr. Thind was a Research Associate at the Department of Tropical
Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
