Leadership/Staff

Overall direction of the MTPCCR is provided by Dr. Rena Pasick, Associate Director for Education and Outreach, UCSF and Dr. Marjorie Kagawa-Singer, Associate Professor, UCLA School of Public Health and Asian American Studies. Other members of the Southern California team include Ms. Sherry C. Kidd, M.Ed., Project Director and Ms. Minelle David, Program Assistant. A team of faculty and student advisors from participating academic institutions are actively involved in all phases of planning and implementation: from CSUF, Dr. Sora Park Tanjasiri and Ruth Peters-Pak from CSULA, Dr. Nancy McQueen and Ms. Nadine Rodriguez; from CSUN, Dr. Martha Highfield and Mr. Pankaj Anand; from UCSD, Dr. Georgia Robins Sadler and Ms. Sheila F. LaHousse; and from USC, Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati and Ms. Claradina Toya Soto.

The MTPCCR was funded by a 5-year (2001-2006) training grant and has recently been re-funded for an additional 5-years (2006-2011) from the National Cancer Institute to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) to establish parallel programs in Northern and Southern California. Collaborating institutions in Southern California include California State University at Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), California State University at Fullerton (CSUF), California State University at Los Angeles (CSULA), California State University at Northridge (CSUN), University of California at San Diego (UCSD), and University of Southern California (USC).
