Faculty & Research

Faculty at the UCLA School of Public Health are actively engaged in cutting-edge research across a wide breadth of topics, examining issues and finding solutions to critical public health problems locally, nationally and globally. Their work has significant impact on policies and programs that improve health and prevent disease. Community engagement is central to many of these projects and we are proud of our commitment and contribution to ensure that our research is relevant and useful to our communities.

Our faculty and students are involved in projects that span bench science, applied research, policy analysis, and community-based local and international projects. Examples of research areas include: access to healthcare, environmental quality, reproductive health, cancer, health disparities, children's health, as well as newer areas of strength in genomics, global health and emerging infectious diseases. Much of the cutting-edge research in the school is conducted through several thematic, multi-disciplinary centers, which are described in the Centers & Programs Section. Research throughout the school is supported by generous federal, state and private funding, a testament to the merit of our faculty and the quality of their research.

Our Experts Database is currently under construction. In the meantime, for more information on individual faculty, including research interests, please click on the department website links below. We also encourage you to search our site by topic keywords. Reporters needing assistance in locating an expert are asked to follow procedures outlined in our News section.
