BIOGRAPHY

Megumi Kano, DrPH, received her Masters and Doctorate degrees from the Department of Community Health Sciences of the School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles.  She majored in community health sciences with a concentration in disaster public health and a minor in epidemiology.  Her interests include the epidemiology of injuries and illnesses associated with natural disasters, public preparedness for disasters, disaster management, and sustainable development.  Her recent research includes a survey of public schools in California about emergency preparedness, a national survey on household experiences with terrorism and other disasters, and an evaluation study of county-level emergency evacuation plans in California.
