Public Health MinorThe UCLA School of Public Health has offered a Minor since the Fall Quarter of 2003. It is designed for students who wish to learn more about core public health functions, including the assessment and monitoring of the health of communities and populations at risk to identify health problems and priorities, the formulation of public policies designed to solve identified local and national health problems and priorities, the assurance that all populations have access to appropriate and cost-effective care, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of that care.Course Requirements for the Minor in Public Health:
All courses for the Minor must be taken for a letter grade, with a minimum
grade of C in each course, and an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or
better. Successful completion of the Minor is indicated on the transcript
and diploma. For further questions about the Minor in Public Health, please contact the staff in the School of Public Health’s Student Affairs Office at (310) 825-5524. The Student Affairs Office, located in A1-269 Center for the Health
Sciences, is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m.
