Public Health MinorThe UCLA School of Public Health has offered a Minor since the Fall Quarter of 2003. It is designed for students who wish to learn more about core public health functions, including the assessment and monitoring of the health of communities and populations at risk to identify health problems and priorities, the formulation of public policies designed to solve identified local and national health problems and priorities, the assurance that all populations have access to appropriate and cost-effective care, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of that care.Course Requirements for the Minor in Public Health: The Minor in Public Health comprises seven courses as follows:
Applying to the Minor in Public Health: Students wishing to apply to the Minor in Public Health must be in good academic standing with an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better, and must have completed 90 or more units. To apply to the Minor, interested students must submit an Application, a Degree Progress Report, an Application Essay and a plan of study showing how you propose to complete the Minor prior to graduation.
