About Us

This project began as a joint endeavor of the Washington, D.C. based Partnership for Prevention and researchers at the UCLA School of Public Health with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The aim of this project is to assess the feasibility of HIA and to develop prototype HIAs to demonstrate how HIA methodologies can be applied to policy decisions in the U.S. With continuing support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The California Endowment, we are able to advance HIA methodology and provide training to develop local technical capacity. Personnel involved in the project include:

Jonathan E. Fielding, UCLA School of Public Health, Principal Investigator
Gerald Kominski, UCLA School of Public Health, co-Principal Investigator
Hal Morgenstern, currently at University of Michigan, founding co-Principal Investigator
Antronette Yancey, UCLA School of Public Health, co-Principal Investigator
Brian L. Cole, UCLA School of Public Health, Project Manager
Riti Shimkhada, UCLA School of Public Health, Research Assistant
